Who we are

Merkabah Ministries is an independent ministry project operated by Zebedee Devante Jones. Our website is https://merkabah.online.

This policy explains how we handle personal information associated with this website, membership accounts, newsletters, comments, and voluntary contributions.

For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@merkabah.online.

Information we collect and why

When you create a membership account, we collect information such as your name, username, email address, and membership details. We use this information to manage your account, verify your email address, provide access to resources, and send necessary account notices.

When you contact us, we receive the information you include in your message and use it to respond. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for your enquiry.

Our hosting and website services also process technical information, such as IP addresses, browser details, and activity logs, to operate the site, maintain security, and troubleshoot problems.

Newsletter subscriptions

Newsletter signup is optional and separate from membership registration. Creating an account or making a contribution does not, by itself, subscribe you to our newsletter.

We use MailPoet to manage subscriptions and deliver emails. Subscription records may include your email address, name if supplied, subscription status, and signup and confirmation information.

With your permission, we use MailPoet to record whether you open newsletter emails and which links you click. We use this information to understand engagement and improve our content. MailPoet’s cookie-based engagement tracking is disabled.

You can allow or decline open and click tracking through the Manage subscription link in our emails and change your choice later. Declining tracking does not prevent you from receiving newsletters.

You can unsubscribe using the link in our newsletter emails. Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not cancel your membership or stop essential account notices.

MailPoet processes information under Automattic’s privacy policy:

Comments and profile images

When you submit a comment, we collect the information entered in the comment form, along with technical information such as your IP address and browser details for moderation and spam prevention.

Approved comments, your chosen display name, and any associated profile image may be visible publicly. Your email address is not displayed as part of your comment. Please do not include private information about yourself or other people in public comments.

Our site uses Gravatar for profile images. A hash derived from your email address may be sent to that service to find an associated image. Gravatar is covered by Automattic’s privacy policy:

Comments are subject to moderation. Previously approved comments do not guarantee automatic approval of future comments.

Membership payments and voluntary support

PayPal processes payments made through our PayPal payment and support options. PayPal handles payment credentials; we do not receive your PayPal password or store full payment-card details through these options.

We may receive transaction information, including your name, email address, payment amount, transaction identifier, payment status, and any note you choose to provide. We use it to administer payments, memberships, contributions, and related enquiries.

PayPal’s handling of personal information is explained here:

Cookies and embedded content

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to support functions such as login, account access, preferences, and security.

If you choose to save your details when commenting, cookies can remember those details for future comments. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, although blocking some cookies may affect website functions.

Pages may contain embedded content, including YouTube videos. These external services may collect information about your device and interactions, use cookies, and associate activity with an account you hold with them.

Google’s privacy policy covers YouTube:

Hosting and service providers

We use WordPress.com and Jetpack to support the website, Restrict Content Pro to manage memberships, MailPoet to manage newsletters, and PayPal to process payments. Information is processed through these services as needed to provide their functions.

Automattic’s notice for visitors to websites using its services is available here:

Service providers may process information in countries outside your country of residence. Their privacy policies explain their processing practices and applicable safeguards.

We may also disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the website, investigate misuse, or resolve a dispute.

How long we retain information

We retain personal information for the purposes described in this policy, including administering accounts and subscriptions, responding to enquiries, maintaining discussion records, and meeting accounting, legal, or security obligations.

Comments and related records may remain while the relevant discussion is available. Account, subscription, and payment records may need to be retained after an account closes or a subscription ends.

You may contact us to request deletion. Some records may remain where retention is necessary for legal, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Your choices and requests

You can update available profile details through your membership account and unsubscribe from newsletters through the links in our emails.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, obtain a copy of, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, or object to particular processing.

Send requests to hello@merkabah.online. We may need to verify your identity before providing account information or acting on a request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or information-handling practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision.
